The original Universal Geneve manual wind manufacture-grade movement, Cal. 231, has been recently serviced and keeps accurate time.

The 14kt gold case is in excellent condition, original, hallmarked, and numbered. It has pleasing dimensions of 21 mm excluding the crown by 38 mm including the lugs.

This watch was produced for the US market, as indicated by the import codes stamped on the movement and the presentation on the case back, dating the watch to 1957 (though the serial number points to a 1949 production date).

The original silver-toned two-tone dial has been restored to excellent condition, free of oxidation or time patina, and features a central seconds hand.

The watch is fitted with a new vintage-style strap and the plexiglass crystal is in excellent condition.
