Rolex – Ref. 3680 Tank-Style Square 18kt. Gold “Carabelli Milano” 1947 Watch – Cal. 10 1/2

This is an original and rare 1947 Rolex tank-carré-style men’s watch in solid gold, in very good condition and functioning properly. Reference: 3689 The watch is powered by a manual wind, manufacture-grade movement, Rolex cal. 10 1/2 “Superbalance.” It works well and keeps good time. The movement has been serviced and comes with our 6-month guarantee. The Rolex caliber 101⁄2′′ “Superbalance” replaced the earlier Hunter 101⁄2′′ series in 1935 , marking a technical evolution in Rolex’s manually-wound movements produced by Aegler. The Superbalance designation referred to the improved balance wheel assembly, which enhanced chronometric stability without requiring the extensive hand-finishing reserved for Ultra Prima-grade movements.

The professionally restored silver dial is in excellent condition, showing no time patina and no oxidations, it has small seconds at six and the double signatire with “Carabelli Milano” one of Milan`s historical Rolex dealers. The original 18kt solid gold case is fully signed and in excellent condition. It measures 26 mm in width (excluding the crown) x 32 mm in length (including lugs). The original back fits perfectly and snaps closed tightly and it has the correct rererence, serial number and manufacturer`s markings. This is an unusual case design, characterized by sculptural andn larger size lugs The plexiglass is also in excellent condition. The watch is fitted with a new wristband.
