This vintage Omega Constellation “Piepan” Ref. 14902‐62 wristwatch is rare black glossy pie‐pan dial, a seldom-seen variant among Constellations, it is in a very good untouched condition and in proper working order. This watch can be dated to 1962, based on the movement serial number and also indicated by the 62 inside the caseback, a cornerstone period in Omega’s Constellation family which was introduced in 1952.

This watch family was conceived as the flagship of Omega’s chronometer offerings, the “Constellation” name embodying its astronomical benchmark standards. The stainless steel case measures 34 mm, excluding the original octagonal crown, and is in very good untouched condition showing only light traces of use. It has a screw-in caseback with the correct reference number. The original Omega plexiglass crystal is in very good condition. The black glossy galvanic-print pie‐pan dial with stepped edges and hand-applied rose gold hour markers and matching dauphine hands is in a very good untouched condition, it has a pleasant “starry sky” effect given by minor speckles on the surface, small oxidations typical of vintage galvanic dials, but no significant patina or color degradation. Powering the watch is the Omega caliber 561 automatic, a chronometer-grade movement produced from 1958 to 1967. It works at 19,800 vph, includes bi-directional automatic winding, 24 jewels, and approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The caliber 561 is part of Omega’s 55x/56x family, known for its reliability and chronometer accuracy.

This watch is fitted with a leather strap comolete with its original clasp. The watch has undergone full in-house service and is in a proper working order. It is delivered with a six-month guarantee and a certificate of originality. The rarity of the black pie‐pan dial significantly increases its desirability among enthusiasts who value both historical importance and authenticity.
