This 1960`s Jaeger-LeCoultrewhite gold ref. 9040 represents the manufacture’s exploration of new case designs, this watch is in a very good condition, it is fully original and in good working order. The 18-karat white gold case measures 30.6mm in diameter excluding the original crown and 36mm lug to lug. The case shows only minimal wear, showing only light traces of use. The snap- back caseback engages securely and bears the correct reference number, serial number, and manufacturer markings and the 18K gold stamp. The plexiglass is in an excellent condition. The original silvered “linen” dial with hand-applied baton hour markers has a clean geometric feel, complemented by the slim baton hands. The dial is crisp and shows no time patina and no discoloration or moisture damage.
This watch is powered by a manually wound caliber 818/2, one of the manufactures classic and qualitative in-house calibers also utilized and adapted by Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Chopard and Breguet. The watch arrives on its original and unused crocodile strap complete with its original steel buckle.
