This vintage 1940`s Eterna waterproof chronograph belongs to the era when Eterna established itself as a leading manufacturer of precision chronographs, it is in a very good, only lightly used condition, and in a proper working order. The stainless steel waterproof screw-back case measures 38 mm in diameter excluding the original crown, making it one of the larger chronographs of its time. It is in a very good untouched cindition showing light and normal traces of use. The screw-down caseback closes securely and shows a clearly legible serial number as well as the manufacturer`s markings on the inside. The plexiglass crystal is free of scratches. The original black glossy gilt dial is in very good condition, with its gilt Arabic numerals, outer tachymeter scale, and subsidiary registers at 3 and 9 o’clock, well preserved and fully legible. The gilt printing is sharp, and the dial shows only a very light time patina consistent with its vintage character. This chronograph is powered by a Valjoux 22 caliber, one of the most respected column-wheel chronograph movements of the period, a manually-wound column-wheel chronograph movement with a 30-minute counter. The movement is in excellent mechanical order, has been recently serviced in-house, timed, oiled, and regulated. Chronograph start, stop, and reset functions operate correctly and with precise engagement.
