In the mid-1960s, Frédéric Robert, the inventor mentioned in the patent, developed the Aquastar Regate from this patent with a modified Felsa 4000N movement, creating the first regatta yachttimer wristwatch on the market The patent for the regatta module was granted in 1964. The ingenious mechanism has five round holes cut from the dial between 10 and 2 o’clock. Under the dial lies an indicator disc colored silver with a red section for counting minutes. By releasing the pusher, the countdown timer starts and the sweep hand counts seconds backwards from 60 to zero. After one minute, the first dot changes to silver, indicating four minutes remaining. After 5 minutes, all dots turn silver and the regatta starts.
