The professionally restored silvered “waffle” dial offers a good legibility, it has a light and ebven time patina with applied arrow indexes and dauphine hands. Waffle-textured Rolex dials are a known 1950`s variant prized for their tactile guilloché effect and light play. The dial is very legible and has a small-seconds counter at 6 o`clock Powering the watch is the automatic Rolex calibre 1120, a small-format self-winding movement with the characteristic butterfly rotor. It has 27 jewels and a beat rate of 19,800 vph, with Swiss- lever escapement and shock protection. The 1120 was purpose-built for compact Oyster Perpetual models of the era and is regarded for robust performance in small cases. The watch is fitted with its original riveted Oyster stainless-steel bracelet, fully signed, dated 1961 on the clasp, and measuring approximately 17 cm in overall length. Links articulate correctly and the folding clasp closes securely, aligning with period bracelet construction.
