The ref. 7253 is part of Vacheron & Constantin’s line of tonneau-cased watches, introduced in 1967 and fitted with the Cal. 1001, a movement that many consider the finest hand-wound calibre Vacheron Constantin has produced.

Released in 1952, the Cal. 1001 measures just 2.94 mm in height, making it at the time of its introduction one of the world’s thinnest wristwatch movement. It remained in production for three decades. The “K” prefix denotes Kif shock protection; the “/2” suffix indicates a specific second variant. The movement has the Geneva Seal and is adjusted to five positions, a standard of regulation reserved for the manufacture’s highest-grade production.

The 18kt yellow gold tonneau case is fully signed and numbered. The case is in very good condition. The case maeasures 30.5 mm. Not counting the original unsigned crown x 31mm, lugs included. The mineral glass is in an excellent condition.

The original silvered dial with printed Roman numerals is in excellent condition, it shows only a very light and even patina. The hands are original as well.

The Cal. K1001/2 has been serviced and is running strong.

The watch is fitted with a new crocodile strap.

This watch has been serviced in-house and is in good working order. It is delivered with our six-month guarantee and our originality certificate.
