UWECO, short for Universal Watch & Co, was registered in October 1935 but was soon overshadowed by the more widely recognized “Universal Geneve” name, officially registered in October 1937. The dual branding with “Datum” on this watch’s dial is a unique feature that is highly valued by Universal Geneve collectors and enthusiasts.

The heart of the watch is its manual winding Universal Geneve signed, manufacture-grade movement calibre 285. This movement runs strongly, keeps accurate time, and its chronograph functions start and stop correctly. It has been professionally serviced, ensuring reliable timekeeping.

The watch’s original coin-edge solid 18kt gold case with a pressure-locked back is in good vintage condition, showing some signs of age. It measures 34.7 mm in diameter, excluding the crown. The case is correctly signed with “Universal UW Geneve” and features the correct reference and serial numbers, as well as Swiss gold hallmarks.

The original Breguet numerals dial also maintains a good vintage condition, displaying an even time patina and minor oxidations.
