Schwarz Etienne – Ref.775403 Automatic Steel & Gold Guilloché Dial Watch – Cal. 2892-2

Schwarz Etienne was founded in 1902 by Paul Arthur Schwarz and his wife Olga Etienne in La Chaux-de-Fonds. For most of the twentieth century, the firm assembled and sold watches using movements sourced from Swiss ébauche makers, operating under various brand names — Alpha (its primary brand from 1940 to 1952), Venus (from 1952 onward), Astin, Sultana, and Le Phare.

In 1985 the company returned to watchmaking and began producing watches under its own Schwarz Etienne name. This ref. 775403 dates from this period — a limited production run of the 1990s.

This Scwarz Etienne exemplifies the enduring appeal of classical watch design. Its finely executed guilloché dial creates a subtle interplay of light and texture, while the perfectly proportioned case achieves a sense of balance and elegance. Free from passing trends, it is a watch whose refinement, quality, and timeless aesthetic resonates across generations.

The steel case with gold bezel insert measures 36 mm. The sapphire see-through caseback displays the movement. The case is in excellent, only lightly used, condition. The original crown is in place. The sapphire crystal is in excellent condition.

The original silvered guilloché dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock is in an excellent condition — no patina, no oxidation and, elegantly, no date.

The movement is the ETA 2892-2 automatic, signed Schwarz Etienne. It has been serviced and is running strong.

The watch is fitted with a new strap and its original clasp.
