Brand:Movado

This vintage Movado Calendomatic Ref. 16352 was presented in the 1950s as the Calendomatic was part of Movado’s effort to integrate complex functions into elegant and reliable wristwatches, combining automatic winding with a full triple calendar (day, date, month) .

This watch has a 32.5 mm stainless steel case, measured excluding the original crown, with pink gold bezel and lug overlays, a classic two-tone construction that adds refinement while maintaining durability.

The case was manufactured by François Borgel, a renowned Geneva-based casemaker known for producing waterproof cases with a screw-down back and high machining standards. The caseback is correctly numbered and screws down firmly, ensuring a degree of protection against moisture. A domed plexiglass crystal completes the case, preserved in excellent condition.

The watch has a professionally restored black glossy dial, well proportioned arrow-head markers, dauphine hands, and a central date pointer. The calendar windows for day and month are displayed at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively, are in English and in an excellent condition. The dial has a coherent vintage look and is quite stunning.

Powering the watch is the Movado Caliber 223, an in-house automatic movement introduced in the early 1950s. This caliber is equipped with a bumper rotor, operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, and offers a 36-hour power reserve. Designed to be robust yet elegant, the Cal. 223 remains a qualitative example of Movado’s manufacture-grade movements during the golden age of Swiss watchmaking.

This timepiece is paired with a new leather strap. It has been serviced in-house and is offered in sound working condition, accompanied by a six-month guarantee and certificate of originality.
