This Minerva Chronograph Reference 1335, introduced in the 1940s, is a prime example of the brand’s commitment to quality mechanical chronographs. Throughout its history, Minerva was regarded as one of the few independent manufactures capable of producing its own chronograph calibers, distinguishing itself from other brands that relied on externally sourced movements. This chronograph has a stainless steel case measuring 34.5 mm excluding the original (unsigned) crown, has its original a screw-in case back and round chronograph pushers. The case proportions are representative of the 1940 chronograph designs, ensuring both durability and wearability.

The case is in an excellent untouched and unpolished condition and it shows only very light traces of use, the case-back is correctly signed and numbered The plexiglass crystal is in perfect condition. The dial is an original silvered radium dial in an amazing – excellent – condition, with two sub- registers for continuous seconds and a 30-minute counter, and well-preserved radium markers.

A very light end even patina is present, reflecting the watch’s age, while the radium lume maintains its period-correct characteristics. At the heart of this watch is the Minerva in-house Caliber 13-20CH, a manual-winding column- wheel chronograph movement. Introduced in 1923, the 13-20CH was initially designed as a mono-pusher before evolving into a two-pusher configuration in the late 1930s. It operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour and has a Breguet hairspring, contributing to its high level of
accuracy. This movement was widely respected for its reliability and was used in both civilian and military applications. Collectors value this caliber as one of the most refined hand-wound chronograph movements of its era, contributing to the desirability of the Reference 1335.

This movement belongs to the second generation with Incabloc shock absorber on the balance wheel. This watch is fitted with a vintage leather strap, complementing its historical character. Having been fully serviced in-house, it is in excellent working condition and will be delivered with a six-month guarantee and an originality certificate. For collectors seeking a rare Minerva chronograph with an in-house movement and historical significance, this Reference 1335 represents a highly collectible piece of Swiss watchmaking history. Worldwide shipping is available, and inquiries are welcome.
