This Jaeger-LeCoultre ladies’ watch is an example of the geometric restraint that defined the manufacture’s design in the 1930s. The elongated rectangular case, with its sharply faceted flanks and narrow bezel, creates the vertical silhouette characteristic of Art Deco proportion — made to sit lightly on the wrist. It measures 14.5 x 22.5mm excluding the flexible lugs, and the signed and numbered steel case is in excellent condition, with only light traces of use.

The dial follows the same discipline: a black background with Arabic numerals set within an open rectangular track, a graphic language particular to the late-Deco period. The mirror-polished hands introduce a quiet contrast. The dial is original and in excellent condition, with almost no time patina.

The movement is a Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture manual-wind calibre 404. It runs well and keeps time, and has been serviced by our in-house watchmaker.

The plexy crystal is in excellent condition.

For an entry into vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre — a manufacture that produces its movements from raw material to finished component under one roof at Le Sentier — an original 1930s steel Art Deco lady’s watch of this quality remains modestly priced relative to the name on the dial.
