This vintage Hamilton wristwatch represents a distinctive chapter in the brand’s postwar legacy. Produced in the 1950s, this watch is the result of a special-order practice common in the American market at the time, in which retail jewellers commissioned unique cases and dials to be paired with Hamilton’s high-grade factory movements. While the case and dial were not made by Hamilton itself, they were assembled and sold through authorized retailers using original Hamilton calibers. The watch combines 1950`s design sensibilities with artisanal finishing, embodying the intersection between American horological craftsmanship and jeweller customisation.

The case is made of 14kt white gold and has elegant “knot” lugs—a hallmark of period design —paired with a pressure-locked caseback. It measures 29mm in diameter, excluding the crown. The case is in an excellent overall condition, and it shows only light traces of use. The plexiglass is in excellent condition, free from scratches or chippings. The dial is a two-tone in silver and pale blue, set with eight old-cut and three baguette-cut diamonds. The outer ring has the diamond markers, while the inner sector, in soft blue, hosts the Hamilton signature and the small seconds subdial. The dial is well-preserved with no patina or oxidations.

Inside ticks the Hamilton Caliber 982, a manual-wind movement produced between the 1930s and early 1950s. Known for its reliability and refined finishing, the 982 has 19 jewels and a precision-adjusted balance. This movement was considered one of the finest American calibers of its era.
