Brand:Cartier

When Cartier launched the Must line in 1973, the vermeil Tank was an exercise in reaching a wider audience without diluting the maison: 925 sterling silver beneath twenty microns of gold, and a series of new, fancier, lacquered dials. Fifty years on, it is the reason these watches are collected.

The vermeil case measures 20 x 28mm and with the original the blue cabochon crown. It is in good condition, showing normal traces of use. The gold plating sows light traces of wear, all caseback writings are perfectly legible

The original white roman lacquered dial is in an excellent condition.

The movement is the Cartier calibre 66 (or 99?) quartz, running strong on a new battery:

A word on the movement. Cartier’s quartz calibres of this period came out of Compagnie Ebel Cartier, the joint venture in La Chaux-de-Fonds between the two houses, and these movements are finished well above the standard of ordinary quartz — with rhodium plated bridges and Cotes-de-Geneve.

The mineral glass is perfect. This watch is fitted with a new leather strap.
