This vintage Baume & Mercier chronograph from the 1950s is one of the few manufactured with a waterproof steel case, it is in a very good untouched condition and just serviced

The steel waterproof case was manufactured by Spillmann, a respected case maker known for supplying robust, water-resistant designs. The case measures 35mm in diameter, excluding the crown, and offers a well-balanced wrist presence. The screw-in caseback is in a very good condition and it screws in tight, the case also has its typical chrono pushers.

The domed plexiglass crystal is in an excellent condition and free from scratches.

The original silvered dial is well preserved, it has only a very light and even patina with raised Arabic numerals, applied markers, and the original luminescent material. The ouert tachimetre and minutes scale are in a perefct condition, contributing to the watch’s overall readability.

At the heart of the chronograph is the Landeron 48 caliber, a cam-actuated manual-wind movement introduced in the late 1930s and produced into the 1960s. Known for its reliability and ease of maintenance, the Landeron 48 is a two-register chronograph movement with a 30-minute counter and running at 18,000 vibrations per hour.

The watch is fitted with a new italian suede strap.
