Nisus – Original “DH – Dienshuhr Heere” German WWII Military Wehrmacht Army Watch

Nisus was a brand manufactured by Fabrique d’Horlogerie Nisus SA / Dreyfus Frères SA, established in Péry, Canton Bern, Switzerland, in 1903, with the Nisus trademark formally registered in 1931. Operating as a mid-range manufacturer, the firm maintained production facilities in Péry and maintained a branch office in Neuchâtel. During the Second World War, Nisus participated in Wehrmacht military contracts, producing D.H. designation service watches with two distinct specifications:

  • smaller 29mm chrome-plated cases housing Peseux 170 movements,
  • and standard 34mm variants equipped with AS 1130 calibers (13 ligne, 15 jewels).

Post-war production continued utilizing third-party ébauches from ETA, AS, and FHF suppliers, incorporating Incabloc shock protection systems and producing chronograph complications with Valjoux and Landeron calibers. The enterprise succumbed to the quartz crisis, with commercial registration deletion occurring in 1970.
