S/N  .  6 digits  .The small numbers of registered watches ( 4 ) does not allow to define a range ,

            however,  it could be  between   37XXXX  and   39XXXX 

NOTE  .

1. “Leonidas Watch Co. ” was very active in the production of aeronautical timepieces and in the

design and production of dashboards for aircraft . The 3rd Reich in general and Luftwaffe in particular

were one of the major clients of this Company. It is plausible that the watch shown below , with a particular

caseback , is the one supplied to Luftwaffe .

2. The caseback of this watch is particular because it does not have the 6 notches like the other D.H./D. but

has another unlocking system for access to movement.

3. The Leonidas is a rare watch . In 20 years I have recorded 10 watches , of these , 4 are marked “D.” , the

others 6 “D.H.” .  But , while the “D.” have the same characteristics ( also of the caseback) and a

plausible S/N ( 37XXXX/39XXXX) , the D.H.s , despite having the same case , dial, and movement

of the D. , they show very different casebacks and , above all, extremely varied S/Ns.
