This Minerva D.H. (Dienstuhr Heer) is a German Army service watch issued during the Second World War, produced by Minerva SA of Villeret in the Swiss Bernese Jura — a manufacture founded in 1858 as H. & C. Robert and renamed Minerva in 1923. The designation “D.H.” stamped on the caseback, followed by a serial number, identified the watch as official Wehrmacht issue. Based on documented serial number analysis of over 100 registered examples, Minerva D.H. watches were delivered in at least four production batches. This watch belongs to Batch 2, with serial numbers ranging from 540XX to 555XX.

Batch 2 is notable for containing two distinct movement types: the Minerva Caliber 12 and the Lavina Caliber 105 — both manually wound movements signed Minerva, with the Minerva arrow logo visible beneath the balance.

The caseback is screw-down; the interior bears the letters “LL,” a stamp characteristic of Lavina-supplied cases.
