Felco – Original “DH – Dienshuhr Heere” German WWII Military Wehrmacht Army Watch

FELCO D.H. service watches were manufactured by Fritz Schluep’s Felco Watch Company, established in Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1919 and formally registered in 1923. The company produced timepieces under military contract for Wehrmacht forces during the Second World War, alongside concurrent production for the United States Army. FELCO military watches employed AS 1130 caliber movements (13 ligne, 15-17 jewels), recognized as Wehrmachtswerk-grade ébauches meeting military precision standards, with shock-protected balance systems and lever escapements.

Following trademark litigation with Frey & Co. over phonetic similarity between Felco and Freco brands, the company reorganized as Felca SA in 1943. In 1945, Felca secured a contract for 30,000 watches from the U.S. Army. The company subsequently rebranded its premium line as Titoni in 1952, with the Felca designation discontinued by 1964 when the firm became Felca et Titoni, eventually consolidating under the Titoni name in 1991 while maintaining fourth-generation Schluep family ownership.
